This interview features Professor Charles Richard Meek of the School of Music at Texas Tech University. Meek talks about his family background and their musical legacy, artistic training, and involvement in music education. He also talks extensively about the music program at Texas Tech, mentoring students, involvement in various music groups and symphonies, teaching differences in music education between the U.S. and Europe, pivoting to online teaching during the COVID pandemic, serving on Faculty Senate, and the dissolution of the local Texas Tech chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) and the transition to an official Texas Tech chapter of AAUP.
