Abstract
Tape 1: his age and his life as a farmer; because of his age, he cannot work anymore as a farmer, but he still owns a number of cows that he personally takes care of; his life in the ranch when he was young; how they made bread and manual work of women; planting and the work of men in the fields; how children started to work so young; the kind of furniture he had in his house when he lived in the ranch; the religion in his life; the means of transportation; visits to the doctor when the children were sick; doctors and healers; the relationship between the workers and their bosses; food and home; old furniture is very odd or they do not even exist; what he knows of the Mexican revolution; stealing and selling of horses; smuggling; that authorities occasionally killed Mexicans, even though they were not bandits; people he knows from Lubbock.
