In Tape 1, former Governor Preston Smith reads Governor Pat Neff’s 1924 speech to the assembly, commencing the celebration of the chartering of Texas Tech. On Tape 2, Bill Collins, chairman of the Tech Board of Regents, presides over the 50th anniversary ceremony. Tape 3 is the ceremony opening the exhibit, "The History of Texas Tech University," at the Museum.
