This interview features David Schmidly, a former president of Texas Tech University, as he discusses his genealogy and childhood background. In this interview, Schmidly begins by explaining his genealogy and the research he has done into his family’s history. He then moves on to describe his parents in detail, and how his mother raised him and made a living during the World War II years. He closes out the interview by recall what it was like to live on a farm and help out with the farming.
