Three members of the Isham Tubbs family recall their life and early experiences in Lubbock. An early-day building contractor, Isham Tubbs served on the town’s first school board and was one of the first in the county to grow cotton. Mention is made of the severe windstorm that blew the cupola off the first county courthouse and destroyed several windmills.
