Abstract
Life, He has a nurse 24 hours a day, Finished high school at 16, Worked at a theatre, Brother in law was an executive at R&R theatre, He bought his father’s land near McKinney from all the other family members, He paid $200 an acre for it, Father raised horses, cows and chickens, He was Santa Claus, His father always gave them one a year, He went to college and his parents paid for everything, Clyde had a voice like a woman, Went to school mostly to get more fundamental, Had 2 years with the studies of music, He took piano, He didn’t have to pay for his piano lessons, He was with the Lubbock Quartet, Got started with gospel music, He was only taking music classes here in Lubbock, Invited to be in the regional quartet for a centennial, He only took one class here at Texas Tech, Professor Gunn, He stayed here in Lubbock for only a few years, It was good for him and he really got his feet on the ground out here, He married his wife 4 years after he met her, Married her on June 1st, Took 2 years just to date her, They have 2 children together and 4 grandchildren, Married for 71 years, He was getting paid $86 a week during one point, Pearl Harbor was attacked when he was 29 years old, He joined the navy in Grand Prairie, He has a degree in gospel music, He was in for 3 years and only had to have a chapel on the naval air station, Never had to leave Grand Prairie, He was the best gospel pianist in the nation, He came to Tech, He worked out in the fields making $18 a week during the depression, At the theatre as a floral director was making $9.90 a week, They taught everything at the singing school, Theory, composition, theology, Had to be a professed Christian, He has 2 years of theology, He can’t walk, They had studios down town, Dr. W.A. Griswold, The preachers were paid in food mostly, They had Sellers Studio’s, Niece of Sellers says he died, They recorded down in Del Rio, They were living right there by the Rio Grande, They would stay right there across from the Rio Grande and go record, They were on every night at 6 Monday through Saturday, E.M Kitchen school teacher out of Slaton, William A McKinney, B.B Mckinney, William McKinney was from around Ft. Worth, He was inducted into the gospel hall of fame, Listening to music and lots of talking
