This interview features Sarah Amira de la Garza as she discusses her life, background, education and profession. In this interview, de la Garza begins by describing her family’s history in Fort Stockton, touching upon her grandfather’s heavy involvement in the community as something that influenced her. She then moves on to recall moving around as her father got different jobs and went to finish his education. De la Garza then recounts her own educational journey, and describes instances of racism she experienced while pursuing her degrees. De la Garza closes the interview by explaining the jobs she held at Arizona State University.
