Interest, Parents played music, Buddy Holly, Little Richard, Nat King Cole, Freddy Lemacks- Uncle, Beach Boys, Surfer music, Church choir, Highland Baptist, Rush Elementary- Lubbock, Smilie Wilson Middle- Lubbock, Coronado High- Lubbock, Singing in the radio, Mom- Dorothy Aldridge, Uncle Dan- Saxophone player, Classical type player, Choir, Big group of friends, Rock band played at his school, Johnny Evans was playing the guitar, That was the defining moment, Barry Phelps- his best friend; played the guitar, He taught him, Electric guitar, first guitar, Sweet Country, His band with Barry, Played a lot in high school, Chris Wilkerson- 2nd biggest influence, Started working at the Lubbock Music Center, in the mall, Eventually started working at the one downtown, Chris, Left to work at Cold water, mixing sounds, Got jobs playing with people, Joe would fill in at Cold water when Chris was busy, 1979-80, Maines Brothers, Met Lloyd at the store, Kenny would be doing sessions at Coldwater, Donnie, Cold water offered him a permanent position, Take away from the jobs, Exposed to a lot of different players, All the country players, You were always meeting different people, Sound of music, Top sound guy around, Mains Brothers-play with great ensembles, Every instrument in the group had their own sound, And as a group together, it sounded really good, Mixing rock bands can be tough, Different sounds, Some play louder that others, for example, A lead singer that is a “screamer”, But he really enjoyed working for the Maines Brothers, Admirers, The Hairs, Routine to approach sound, Layout, What they play, Make sure there is room for everything, Who needs monitors, What changes with their beats, It can be difficult to capture sound at times, Feedback can get cloudy, A little too much, and sometimes not enough, A tough thing to deal with at times, Coldwater, It was fun, It led him to wanting to do more, Always wanted to be interested in records or movies, Got to go to a lot of new places, Got to be good friends with Donnie- Maines Brothers, It became full time with them probably around 1983, Worked with them right before their record deal, Mercury Records, Maines Brothers, They counted Joe as a member of the band, He was always invited to go with them everywhere, They were logical, They had rules, For example if your 10 minutes late, 20 bucks, Lloyd moved to Austin, Carry was teaching at South Plains around late 80’s, The payroll stopped around the 90’s, The Cactus, Part of the original investment group, Had a lot of fun, One gig they were at a Tech football game, After party thing for the students, at the time, Natalie Maines sang, before she became a Dixie Chick, Maines Family, Huge family influence on the music in the West Texas area, Learned a lot from working with Don, A lot of tight knit people, The Maines, the cactus family, etc…, Currently, Manufacturer, Independent, Goes out and represents companies, Goes to consulting firms, Introduces people to new products, Goes to actual contractors as well, A lot of training and education courses, Midland, Odessa, Waco, Texas Tech, Finished in 1989, On the 12 year plan, One semester away when he started working with the Maines, Brothers, So he stopped for 6 years and then went back, Movie Interest, Wants to make films, Works too many hours to do it now, Jeremy, Played the parts of people who could not show up, He was young, and wanted to learn his craft, Theater, spur of the moment, “Life ain’t deep, but it’s wide” – quote someone told Andy, Jeremy managed to stay true to his art, Work Ethic, Cultural thing from our part of the world, meaning West Texas, Big difference at playing at something and playing with something, “The chicken is involved in breakfast, the hog is committed” – Andy’s, Grandpa, Future, Maybe get back to Lubbock to visit people, His wife, Cathy, and he have a lot of friends, The population is more supportive, Appreciate it more&lt;br /&gt;
