After summarizing the work done with Plan Lubbock 2040, he talks about the work that was done in anticipation of the COVID-19 outbreak. Other topics in this era include the racial unrest during Summer 2020, the proposed and eventually passed sanctuary city for the unborn bill, the tensions of the 2020 mayoral and national elections, as well as reopening the city after the COVID shutdown, the public education efforts during the pandemic, how Lubbock leaders responded to the pandemic, and the highly successful vaccine clinic in 2021.
