This interview features Professor Henry Shine as he elaborates more on his childhood, growing up, and attending university. Dr. Shine explains his familial relationships with his mother, father, paternal grandparents, and some extended family members, before recalling memories of his mother’s foster family. After detailing his familial relationships, he recounts his primary education and taking exams to be eligible to enter into secondary education. Dr. Shine discusses his memories of World War II and the jobs he had during the war before getting drafted, and then later deferred from being drafted. The interview closes with Dr. Shine discussing his university education and some of the people he met during his time at university.
