In this final interview, Councilwoman Latrelle Bright Joy speaks on various city council issues she worked on since being elected in 2012, including: city annexation, public relations issues with the sanctuary city bill and bond elections, the master plan and unified zoning, mental health initiatives (the West Texas mental health collaborative), LP&L’s move to ERCOT, property taxes, and future projects (including the lake seven park). She discusses city development issues and how she focused her decisions on what is best for the city overall. After outlining work and projects outside of the city council, she summarizes Lubbock’s changes in the past decade and hopes for its future.
