In this second interview, current Lubbock mayor Tray Payne talks about running for mayor in 2021. He discusses issues that arose during his term as mayor (public safety, lake seven, UDC, swimming pools, etc), as well as work within Lubbock city government to streamline operations and improve employee morale (moving council meeting times, eliminating committees). The interview ended with his reflections on his work over the past two years, future work, and Lubbock’s history and identity in general.
