This interview features Dr. William Sumruld as he describes his family biography as well as early stories documenting his family’s life during the homesteading period in Lovington, NM. He discusses different familial stories including old cowboy songs, ranching practices, oil drilling practices, and weather events that impacted the community. He then recalls the beginnings of the community in Hobbs, NM as well as different struggles between Hobbs and Lovington for power. He finished with a discussion of a personal biography of his time in Hobbs/Lovington.
