Abstract

Born in Greenville, MS, 04/11/1899 & attended MS A&M in 1915 and finished his BS degree in Agriculture in June 1919. Started out as a cotton farmer on a big plantation in Lamont, MS, 1920. When he first started cotton sold for $1/ lb but when Depression hit it sold for .20 cents/lb. In 1929, he went to work for the Texas Agriculture Dept. in the Boll Weevil Eradication Dept., inspecting crops for boll weevils
