Abstract

Memorial to Hermes Nye. Starts off with a piano playing a song with lots of dissonant chords with periods of majors and minors. J.B. Martin gives a speech. Gives thanks for knowing Hermes. Said Hermes was a well-rounded man who loved adventure. It was the manifestation of the inner spirit. He wasn't afraid to risk failure. He was a lawyer almost until his last moments. Hermes loved books and was a novelist. He loved to teach creative writing. He didn't enjoy politics. He was a folklorist and a folk singer. Encouraged young people. Very modest with many talents. He had a variety of friends. He loved classical literature. Someone plays one of Hermes' favorite folk songs. A Texas Folklore Society speaker gives thanks for 30 years of pleasure working with Hermes. A lady plays another folk song
